Sinopsis:
John Reid, fue un Ranger de Texas que fue herido en una emboscada tendida por el forajido Butch Cavendish. Él fue encontrado por un indio llamado Toro, que cuidó de él hasta que sanaran sus heridas. Toro había sido un amigo de la infancia y se mantendría constantemente como compañero del Llanero Solitario. Reid juró ayudar a cumplir la justicia del oeste portando una máscara (inicialmente para infiltrarse en el grupo salvaje de Cavendish). Armado con revólveres que disparaban balas de plata que podían herir pero nunca matar, cabalgaba sobre Silver (Plata) su fiel caballo, mientras que Toro lo hacía sobre Scout.
